Welcome to Unplug!

Unplug is a local community project which aims to increase awareness and facilitate change concerning energy conservation in Davao City and Mindanao as a whole. It has been developed by AIESEC Davao and is implemented with the input of exchange participants (EPs) of AIESEC Davao, local high school students, citizens of Davao City and other cooperation partners. Project participants have been working together with the Department of Energy to familiarize themselves with the current energy crisis in Mindanao island. Orientation and visits to the power plants have acquainted EPs with the energy production in Davao. 

Based on this information, EPs have drafted a survey to gather information on local resident's energy usage and efforts to conserve energy. These research results will be shared on this blog. EPs have also shared their findings with local high school students as peer education. This enables high school students to evaluate their own energy usage and make it easier to induce change. This blog is dedicated to share information about the project, research results and all matters concerning energy conservation in Mindanao in order to bring about positive change in the way energy is generated and used.
